Brock Bowers
TE - Las Vegas Raiders
2024 Outlook
Las Vegas Raiders TE Brock Bowers, the team's 2024 first-round pick and incoming rookie, will have to "earn" his opportunities in the passing game "by blocking in the run game," according to Raiders tight ends coach Luke Steckel.
Fantasy Impact
Despite his draft status as the No. 13 pick, Bowers will still need to earn his role in the passing game, says his position coach, who admits it is an "old-school mentality." Second-year TE Michael Mayer (6'4" and 265 pounds) had a 27-304-2 stat line as a rookie under. Steckel is a part of the new Raiders staff in 2024 after spending 2023 as an OL assistant with the Chicago Bears. Bowers (6'3" and 243 pounds) may have to earn his role as a blocker to see a large snap share as a rookie, though he never had a season with a sub-67.0 PFF run-blocking grade at Georgia.
The Las Vegas Raiders selected TE Brock Bowers with the No. 13 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.
Fantasy Impact
Bowers was expected to be drafted earlier by some, but he instead falls to the Raiders at No. 13. Bowers is considered as the best tight end prospect in recent years, and as more of a wide receiver than a tight end by some people. He should have a huge immediate role in the Raiders offense.
TE Brock Bowers will not work out at UGA pro day due to a tweaked hamstring.
Fantasy Impact
Bowers is planning on working out for teams at a later date in April. The minor injury should not impact his draft status in the 2024 NFL Draft.
